Big River Analytics

Big River Analytics is an Indigenous-owned research and economics consulting firm that provides statistical and analytical capacity to benefit Indigenous peoples, communities, governments, and organizations across Canada. They are a fully remote team of economists, analysts, statisticians, developers, and project management experts that strive to provide custom solutions to technical problems. They are currently looking to add a Data Scientist, Economist, Analyst, and Visual Designer to our growing team!

Economists are the core of our research team. They are expected to turn project objectives into actionable, well-defined tasks that can be delegated to more junior members of the research team and deliver on project work independently. This translation of project objectives into tasks requires an understanding of the project objectives, background, context, and Big River Analytics’ and the client’s position and interests. Under the guidance of the Team Lead – Economics and Data Analytics, the Economist will support all research activities undertaken by their team. This work is grounded in research and the clear and accessible communication of results through reports, presentations, and other mediums. It requires proficiency with data analysis, applying economic theory and analysis to problems, visualizing and manipulating data, and writing.

Big River Analytics is an innovative, values-driven, and collaborative team environment. This job is for you if you are relationship-oriented, feel motivated by the impact of our work, and are willing to work hard alongside your team to produce high quality deliverables. In an economist, we are looking for someone who is a strong problem solver, excellent writer, and uncompromising about understanding the “why?” behind every research question and research finding.

Self-identifying as Indigenous or having first-hand knowledge or experience working with an Indigenous community will be considered an asset.
