The urban Indigenous youth we serve will have increased confidence, self-esteem and leadership abilities. They will develop skills and a strong attachment to the workforce that will make them more employable and provide them with greater stability. NPAAMB will be a leader in supporting our youth as they transform into leaders contributing to their communities.

NPAAMB is currently seeking:

(1) JOB DEVELOPER for our SPF Building Futures
Contract Position: (40 Hours per week; 5 months or until March 31, 2021 with possibility of extension)

Location: 50 Niagara St, St. Catharines AND Various locations across southern Ontario
Daily travel to out of town training sites requires commute

NPAAMB in a joint effort with our training partners will facilitate the training of Indigenous youth in hospitality and tourism, healthcare, building and construction trades and life skills development as part of our core delivery of programs. All courses offered are rooted in cultural foundations and Indigenous contexts.
Under the direction of the Strategic Partnership Team Lead and NPAAMB Executive Director and/or her designate, working as part of a team in a fast paced environment, the primary function is to develop employer relationships to secure work placement and youth work experience opportunities and to offer in service training to develop NPAAMB staff in delivering job search programs to Indigenous youth served by NPAAMB. This role also includes identifying, cultivating, maintaining and evaluating relationships with a variety of sector partners that align with the strategic and program priorities established by the Executive Director and Board of Directors
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
• College Diploma or University Degree in Career Planning, Social Service, Education or related field
• Career Development Practitioner Certificate or equivalent considered an asset
• 2-3 years employment services experience
• Sales experience considered an asset

• Understands new ideas and concepts quickly; able to communicate clearly to an audience
• Effectively interacts with (and relates to) youth in an appropriate manner that inspires and encourages positive growth and impact
• Flexible with strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively in a diverse environment
• Establishes and maintains relationships with youth, Indigenous community, employers, government and community partners.
• Possesses high levels of integrity, confidentiality, accountability and a strong work ethic
• Strong problem identification and resolution skills
• Adheres to the organization’s security and confidentiality policies
• Ability to collaborate and work cohesively with the management team and all team members
• Experience working with indigenous groups and youth with multiple barriers
• Writing progress reports, meeting updates and case notes
• Building and maintaining community relationships and partnerships
