Summer Student

Start Date:  June 24th, 2019

Hours:  35 hours per week

1 Position:  Summer Camp Cook

As part of the team you will provide the summer camp with preparation- cook and clean-up of daily menu items, soup, sauces etc., child care menu, clean & maintain your work space. Practice safe food handling.

Duties:

  • Create menu to follow nutrition guidelines and within budget
  • Cooking all menu items as required to support the team
  • Short order cooking
  • Assist with the preparation required for the child care lunch & snacks
  • Practice safe food handling
  • Maintain the clean and safe operation of all equipment
  • Maintain clean food storage areas – fridges, freezer, dry storage area etc.
  • Dish & pot washing

 

Qualifications:

  • In Post-Secondary or Secondary and returning to school in the Fall of 2018
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training or be willing to be certified
  • Safe Food Handling Certification or be willing to be certified
  • Previous cooking experience
  • Customer Service
  • Excellent Communications Skills, both written and verbal
  • Good Organizational Skills
  • Good Leadership Skills
  • Good Time Management Skills
  • Experience in Supervision of children
  • Work well in a team atmosphere
  • Be of Aboriginal descent
