Opportunity Knocks looked a little different this year- Our event was hosted at YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Center, featuring outdoor activities and games like archery and rock climbing. Also new this year was a sacred fire, burning the entire duration of the event within a full-size tipi borrowed from the City of Hamilton. Fire keepers tended the fire both days as youth attended a trade show, participated in a Big Drum event, and of course, were met by Black Eyed Peas member, Taboo, for a heart to heart and personal story from the artist. Taboo shared about his first job, his favourite and least favourite work experiences, and how he’s had to pivot throughout his life to maintain his career and personal happiness.
