Community Events

NPAAMB celebrated its first Truth & Reconciliation Event in the city of Kitchener in 2023, with the help of community partners and allies. Staff worked to provide culturally relevant and sensitive information to members of the public attending, with the aim of creating awareness and further advocacy for the 94 calls to action. This outdoor event aims to build upon community, understanding and respect.

In 2024, NPAAMB staff returned to Kitchener to share free orange t-shirts to community members outside of Kitchener City Hall. Within 2 hours, staff had given out over 200 free t-shirts, and engaged with numerous people about what Truth & Reconciliation means and what it can look like.

NPAAMB is proud to partner alongside fellow not-for-profits and community organizations to support annual Pride events across our six catchment cities. Representation encourages confidence and self-identity in young people, and it’s important that we continue to build spaces of inclusion and acceptance for our indigenous youth. Join us in June to celebrate and observe Pride Day- play some trivia, win some prizes, and learn about NPAAMB supports for youth in your community!
