Oya:na Food Drive
Accepting non-perishable food items and female hygiene products

Oya:na youth are collecting items to account for their community project to address social issues within their community. All donations that are received will go to Hamilton’s Native Women’s Shelter.

Drop off location:
Hamilton Regional Indian Centre located at 34 Ottawa street North.
(Drop-off in the NPAAMB office)

Donations will be accepted until December 13th, 2019!

The Aboriginal Leadership Opportunities Year (ALOY) is a one-year educational and leadership experience through the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) in Kingston, Ontario. The ALOY program includes:

sports
field trips
leadership development
military training
cultural support activities
individual learning plans

Through these learning plans, you will take part in individual and small group tutorials for pre-university (non-credit) and first-year university courses.

As part of the program, you will enrol in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) for one year as an Officer Cadet and receive free tuition and books. You may request to leave the program at any time. At the end of the year, you may apply to continue at RMC in a degree program through either the Regular Officer Training Program or the Reserve Entry Training Plan.

Senior level high school or equivalent (encouraged)
Registered NPAAMB client
Reside in Brantford, Fort Erie, Hamilton, Kitchener/
Waterloo, Niagara Falls or St. Catharines
Self-identified as an Indigenous person
Between 18 - 30 years old
Out of school, unemployed or underemployed
Ontario driver’s license (encouraged)
